Second-hand women's accessories

Accessories offer the best value for lifespan second-hand: no size to adjust, and materials that age slowly. The assessment is about the moving parts and the edges, never the surface: fastenings, buckles, edge seams are what give way before the material. On leather, dryness can be nourished and rescued, a deep crack is permanent - that is the only distinction that counts. On wool and cashmere, look for moth damage in the seams rather than on the surface, where it does not show yet. On pieces with trims or rhinestones, count the missing elements: they are almost always specific to one model and impossible to find again.
