adidas sweatshirts are read first by their codes, which can be dated precisely: the trefoil points to the Originals line, the three-bar logo to performance. An older Originals piece and a recent training sweatshirt share neither the same cut nor the same fabric, even in the same size - the former run wide and short, with raglan sleeves, the latter are more fitted. That is the point to check before buying. On a pre-owned piece, wear shows at the ribbed edges - cuffs, hem, neckline - which lose their spring before the fleece itself suffers. Then check the flocking and screen printing: a logo that cracks or whose edges lift cannot be repaired, unlike embroidery. Finally, test the zips along their whole run.
