Calvin Klein has a deliberately pared-back wardrobe, with no pattern or ornament, where most of the identity comes through the logo and the line. That is an advantage second-hand: a plain piece does not date at the same pace, and a T-shirt or a pair of jeans from the brand slips easily into a current outfit. It does mean paying attention to the exact line, though, because the brand covers several worlds whose cuts have nothing in common, from denim to tailoring. The sizing is usually given in US sizes and turns out to be fairly fitted. On a pre-owned piece, the brand's restraint works against it: on a plain colour, the slightest fading or stain shows immediately, where a print would have hidden it. So check that the colour is even in daylight, and the state of the logo, often printed rather than embroidered.
