IKKS is a French brand whose positioning rests on a carefully worked urban wardrobe, with a marked taste for fabrics slightly heavier than average and visible finishing details. It is a brand you regularly find second-hand in good condition, because its pieces are designed to last several seasons rather than one. The sizing is fairly fitted and follows French sizes, which makes it easier to judge than brands that size in US sizes. What to check depends on the fabric: on knits, pilling at the elbows and under the arms; on jackets, the buttons and fastenings, often specific and so hard to replace like for like; on coated or treated cotton pieces, the state of the surface treatment, which flakes at the folds.
