Guess has a very identifiable wardrobe, built around denim, the triangle logo and a close-fitting silhouette. The brand is massively present second-hand, which has a practical consequence: you need to pay attention to what you are looking at, because its production covers carefully made pieces as much as logo basics. The sizing is narrow, given in US sizes, and particularly tight on jeans and tops. On a pre-owned piece, the most fragile element is the logo: often printed or applied rather than embroidered, it cracks and peels, and that is irreversible. On denim, check the elastane, which loses its spring over time - a stretch pair of jeans that has gone slack never returns to its original shape, unlike rigid denim. Finally, check the rhinestones and metal trims, which are often missing on older pieces.
