The Hugo Boss shirt is where the house best shows its tailoring skill: collar interfacing, neat buttonholes, fabrics that hold up well. That is what makes it interesting second-hand, because these finishes cannot be found at a low price new and they last. Two lines coexist and do not share the same cut - BOSS for the main wardrobe, HUGO for a narrower silhouette - and second-hand mixes them, so the label counts as much as the size. The sizing follows European conventions. On a pre-owned shirt, wear is concentrated in three friction areas: the point and fold of the collar, the edge of the cuffs, and the fabric around the top button. Fabric that has thinned there cannot be repaired, and on a light-coloured shirt marks under the arms are permanent.
