Kaporal is a French brand born in Marseille, centred on denim and an urban wardrobe with strong cuts. Its appeal second-hand lies in the construction of its jeans, with visible topstitching and worked washes that are the brand's style feature. That calls for one precaution: on a pair of Kaporal jeans, wear can be original, and you have to tell the intended effect from the real start of a hole. A factory wash is clean and symmetrical; real wear is irregular and the fabric there has thinned. The sizing is fitted and follows French sizes for tops, inches for jeans. On a pre-owned pair, examine the crotch and the pocket bags against the light, the state of the rivets and contrast topstitching, and on stretch denim the spring of the elastane.
