Sandro is a French brand with a wardrobe built tightly around a narrow silhouette and a sober palette, with finishes a notch above the mass market. Its pieces resell well second-hand because they stay identifiable without looking dated. Sizing is the main point to watch: the cuts are distinctly narrow, especially at the shoulders and armholes, and you often need a size up from your usual one. Sizes are frequently numbered from 0 to 4 rather than given in letters, a 1 being roughly an S and a 2 an M. On a pre-owned piece, check fine knits against the light, where snags show, the state of the buttons and fastenings - often specific to one model - and on jackets the lining under the arms.
