Wrangler comes from American workwear and rodeo, and it shows in the construction: flat seams on the inside of the thighs so as not to chafe on horseback, reinforced back pockets, and a topstitched W that is the brand's signature. It is denim designed to be used, which makes it a good candidate for second-hand. The useful clue is the model number on the label, which defines the cut regardless of the year, and the measurements in inches - W for the waist, L for the leg length. On a pre-owned pair, the difference between a beautiful patina and a fabric at the end of its life shows at the crotch and the pocket bags, to be examined against the light. Also check the rivets, the belt loops and the state of the contrast topstitching.
