Second-hand Lacoste
151 pieces available, from XS to XXXL, mostly in very good condition, between €15 and €100.
Lacoste is recognised first by its knit: the cotton piqué, thicker and more structured than ordinary jersey, is what keeps a collar standing for years. It is also what makes the brand interesting second-hand - a piece from the 1990s or 2000s has often aged better than a recent basic. The sizing system is the main trap: Lacoste numbers its sizes from 2 to 7 instead of using letters, and the conversion is not intuitive. A 3 is an S, a 4 an M, a 5 an L, a 6 an XL. On older models the cut is noticeably roomier than on current production, for the same size. On a pre-owned piece, three things decide its real condition: the collar, which can ripple or whose points can curl up for good; the embroidered crocodile, where a loose thread gives away washes that were too hot; and the underarms, which mark before the rest of the garment. We photograph every piece as it is and point out what we see.
